A question for you: Have you ever wondered how a church can grow from a small fellowship to a vibrant community hub? Buckhead Church’s story is one of vision, growth, and a desire to connect with people. Let me tell you about it.
Buckhead Church started as Buckhead Fellowship in April 2001. A group of locals wanted a church like North Point Community Church. They wanted a place where they could bring unchurched friends. Keith Eigel, an original member, said he would drive to Alpharetta for NPCC. But he knew his Buckhead friends wouldn’t.
Andy Stanley and the NPCC team guided Buckhead Fellowship. In August 2001, it became North Point Ministries’ first satellite campus. Buckhead Fellowship then became Buckhead Church. They met every other Sunday. In 2003 on Easter Sunday, they moved to a renovated grocery store on Roswell Road.
In 2004, Buckhead Church launched the Dare You To Move campaign. It raised funds for a permanent building. In May 2007, they moved to their current four-story building at Tower Place and Lenox Road.
Today, Buckhead Church has over 6500 adults attending three Sunday services. More than 1500 kids and students meet in small groups. During the week, over 5000 adults gather in Community Groups. They study the Bible, pray, and fellowship.
Andy Stanley says God blessed Buckhead Church with potential. He wants to reach the 300000 unchurched people in the community. Buckhead Church aims to lead people into a relationship with Jesus. That is what drives everything they do.
Buckhead Church’s mission is to inspire people to follow Jesus. They engage people in the church’s life and mission. Their strategy includes endearing the community. They want people to know they’re here and happy to be here. They want people to be better off because of the church.
The church inspires its audience with engaging experiences. People say, I’m glad I came and can’t wait to return. Buckhead Church equips its core members. They enlist and train students and adults to give, lead, and invite others.
Buckhead Church believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God. They believe in one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They believe Jesus is the Son of God who became flesh to reveal God. They believe he is the Savior. They believe all people were created to have fellowship with God. But they became alienated through sin. People cannot regain a right relationship with God on their own.
Salvation comes through Jesus Christ’s blood. It was shed on the cross. God offers salvation to those who trust in Christ’s death and resurrection. Christians should live for Christ. They should obey God’s Word and yield to God’s Spirit. Believers should mature and become like Christ. The church is Christ’s body. Its purpose is to glorify God and make Him known.
From its humble beginnings to its current impact, Buckhead Church exemplifies a dynamic faith community. It is focused on making a difference in the lives of individuals and the wider Atlanta area. Its ongoing story is a testament to its vision.
