Has anyone ever noticed how peaceful the Alhaja Khadijah Mosque is despite being in the heart of Accra? This mosque, nestled behind St. Paul’s Catholic Church and next to the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Chesterfield Close, has a unique story to tell. Alhaja Khadijah Mosque isn’t as grand as the National Mosque, but it holds a special place in the community. Opened on September 25th, 2011, it serves as a local hub for Sunni Muslims. The Alhaja Khadijah Mosque offers the essential amenities: a place to wash, restrooms, and parking. It’s a place where the community gathers for daily prayers, from 4:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week. The mosque also welcomes women and strives to be inclusive. While it doesn’t currently have wheelchair accessibility, its single-level structure makes it relatively easy to navigate. Alhaja Khadijah Mosque represents the spirit of community and faith in Accra. It’s a place where people can connect, pray, and find solace in their shared beliefs. It is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a testament to the dedication of the local Muslim community. The Alhaja Khadijah Mosque is a quiet haven in a bustling city. A reminder of the power of faith and community in everyday life.
