“Did you know that the Parroquia Virgen del Alba wasn’t always here?” I ask. It has a fascinating story. We are standing in front of the Parroquia Virgen del Alba in Alcorcón Madrid. The church wasn’t built until 1981. But its story began before that.
The Parroquia Virgen del Alba was created on December 8 1975. However it did not begin operating until 1979. The church is on Calle Mayor in Alcorcón. It has witnessed the city’s growth.
In 1981 the temple was built. On December 12 of that year it was inaugurated. It was dedicated by Cardinal Archbishop Don Vicente Enrique y Tarancón. The architect was Don Francisco Caballero Lasierra. Don Higinio Vázquez created the altar ambón sede and baptismal font. The sculptor Don Juan Manuel Martín Munuera created the Cristo and the Virgen.
