Is this the home of Ibiza’s football dreams? Right here before you stands the Estadi Municipal Can Misses. This isn’t just any sports arena. This is where the heart of Ibizan football beats. The Estadi Municipal Can Misses was built in 1991. It was originally intended as the home ground for SD Ibiza and UD Ibiza-Eivissa. Over the decades, it became a stage shared by several local clubs, each leaving their mark on its history. The stadium has seen its fair share of transformations. In 2003, a roofed grandstand was added, only to be replaced in 2012 after a fierce storm. Then in 2017, the field underwent a major change, switching from natural grass to artificial turf. Just a year later, the stands received a facelift, making them more modern and weather-resistant. In 2021, UD Ibiza, after a triumphant climb to the Segunda División, secured exclusive rights to the Estadi Municipal Can Misses. This move came with a hefty price tag. They invested a substantial amount to bring the facilities up to the stringent standards of professional football. The Estadi Municipal Can Misses is more than just a stadium. It embodies the passion and dedication of Ibiza’s football community.
