Fifty-four years of vibrant faith. That’s the legacy of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. Imagine standing here in 1958, with just forty-four souls gathered in a former restaurant on Old Katy Road. This humble beginning blossomed into a thriving community. On Christmas Eve of 1961, a new sanctuary on Memorial Drive welcomed 400 members. Memorial Drive United Methodist Church continued to grow, adding buildings and expanding its programs. The present sanctuary, with its stunning stained glass and awe-inspiring cathedral ceiling, opened its doors in 1977. The church’s growth wasn’t just physical. It expanded spiritually too. Memorial Drive United Methodist Church launched innovative programs like “Via-The Way of the Disciple” in 2012. This program encouraged committed Christians to deepen their faith and answer Christ’s call. Today, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church embraces four core values: Worship, Grow, Witness, and Give. This church isn’t just a building. It’s a community of 7,400 souls, living out Christ’s message of love for God and neighbor.
