Stepping into the realm of faith, we find ourselves before the International Central Gospel Church (I.C.M.C). This vibrant hub of worship pulsates with a rich history and a captivating story waiting to be unveiled. The I.C.M.C. first opened its doors on February 26, 1984, in Accra, Ghana. Founded by Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil, the church quickly gained momentum, becoming one of Ghana’s fastest-growing Charismatic churches. From humble beginnings in a small classroom with just twenty souls, the I.C.M.C. now boasts a congregation of nearly 50,000. The I.C.M.C.’s main headquarters is located in Achimota, Accra. It also has an ultramodern church complex called ICGC Christ Temple East in Teshie. The I.C.M.C. has played a significant role in Ghana’s educational landscape. It owns Central University College, the largest private university in Ghana. In 1988, the I.C.M.C. established Central Aid, a scholarship program supporting needy students in pre-tertiary education. It’s one of the largest non-governmental educational scholarship schemes in the country. Beyond education, the I.C.M.C. actively contributes to the community’s well-being. Its annual “Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh” charity event has benefited over 1,500 children at the Children’s Cancer Unit in Korle Bu since 2011. The I.C.M.C. also champions healthy living through its yearly Life Walk, launched in 2005. And for those seeking physical wellness, the Body Temple, an ultra-modern gym and sports facility, is located right on the church premises. The I.C.M.C. stands as more than just a place of worship. It’s a beacon of hope, a center for learning, and a testament to the power of faith in action. As you leave the I.C.M.C., carry with you the spirit of its mission: Raising Leaders, Shaping Vision, and Influencing Society Through Christ.
