What started as a humble Bible study group blossomed into the Lord of Harvest South Bay Church. This church stands as a testament to faith and community. It began in 1989 under the guidance of Rev. Eliseo Sadorra and Pastor Benny Aranas.
These founders worked tirelessly. They wanted to spread the gospel throughout Los Angeles and beyond. They preached and served the city. They also sent missionaries to far-off lands.
In 1997 Pastor Benny took on the role of senior pastor. From the church’s modest start many ministries emerged. These ministries addressed the diverse needs of the people. Several local churches were established. They reached into Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and even the Philippines.
Harvest South Bay is also part of the Evangelical Formosan Church. The EFC started in Los Angeles in 1965. Initially it focused on Taiwanese immigrants. It then grew to include English-speaking American Born Chinese. Later, it welcomed Mandarin immigrants too.
The South Bay church officially began in December 1979. The English ministry followed in September 1981. In the beginning laypeople and part-time staff managed the English ministry. Over time it grew. It expanded from a high school group to a church for young couples and families.
Today Harvest South Bay Church continues to thrive. Jovit and Gwen Santos serve as the Lead Pastors. Jovit is a licensed minister. Gwen is a cancer survivor who supports the church. Their children actively participate in the Music and Multimedia Ministry. Loyal friends and senior board members support Harvest South Bay Church. They have helped the church’s vision become reality for over two decades.
Lord of Harvest South Bay Church stands as a beacon of hope. It is a place where faith thrives and community bonds strengthen. It welcomes all to experience the love and grace.
