Let’s get lucky! This is the Administración de Sorteos UANL, the heart of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León’s lottery program! The Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León is a major public university in Monterrey, the third largest in Mexico. It’s been around for a long time though. Its roots go all the way back to the 18th century, to the Real y Tridentino Colegio Seminario de Monterrey. In 1933 it officially became the Universidad de Nuevo León and then achieved autonomy in 1971, officially becoming the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, or UANL. The biggest university campus, the Ciudad Universitaria, houses the administrative offices and the Rector’s office. But the most exciting part? It includes a stadium – and a whole sports complex, with an Olympic Aquatic Center! Did you know that the UANL’s motto is “Alere Flammam Veritatis?” It means “To nourish the flame of truth.” The university has a long tradition of supporting student athletes. It even funds a professional football team! The Tigres de la UANL is one of the most successful teams in Mexico’s top division. But the UANL does more than just educate students. It has a rich history of research. It’s a hub for hundreds of researchers, 1014 of whom are members of the Systems National de Investigadores! It’s a treasure trove of knowledge and culture! You can learn a lot about this city here. The University helps fund projects, research, and scholarships. In fact, the Administración de Sorteos UANL is an important part of that. This is where the UANL lottery program does its business. The proceeds from the lottery fund many important programs and initiatives, which is all part of the UANL’s mission to transform lives through education.
