Bishop Charles Harrison Mason founded the Church of God in Christ. He organized St. Paul Church of God in Christ as the “Mother Church” in 1897. The present structure was built in 1906. The COGIC has spread throughout every state in these United States and to more than 70 foreign countries. Membership exceeds 8 million people.

It was formerly Saints Industrial and Literary School. From those modest origins, a movement began that touched countless lives across the globe.
