“Apostolic Pentecostal” is the best way to describe Houston Apostolic Church. This is a church with diverse cultures and languages. It is a place where you can experience a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Houston Apostolic Church started in November 2003. Pastor Israel Kang and his wife began a small Bible study in Houston’s Chinatown. At first, only one or two people attended the classroom Bible study. But God led more people to the group. People received the Holy Spirit. They were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

The small group became a multicultural congregation. On May 28, 2006 Houston Apostolic Church held its first Sunday service. The church has hosted two national Chinese Evangelism conferences. Hundreds of people attended. Many were filled with the Holy Spirit. They spoke in tongues and were baptized.

Signs, wonders, and miracles have followed the church’s growth. Many sicknesses have been healed by the Lord Jesus. Tumors disappeared after prayer. Cancers were healed by faith. Prophecies have been fulfilled. The congregation has witnessed spiritual gifts.

Today, Houston Apostolic Church is multicultural. It includes Caucasians and African Americans. Hispanics, Filipinos, and Chinese attend. More nationalities are expected to join.

Houston Apostolic Church believes in the Bible. They consider it the inspired Word of God. They believe in one God. He is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They believe Jesus was both human and divine.

They believe in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. They believe in baptism by immersion in Jesus’ name. This is for the remission of sin. They also believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Speaking in tongues confirms this.

The church believes Jesus offers redemption. He restores those who confess and forsake their sins. They seek mercy and forgiveness. They believe every person deserves compassion and love. Kindness, respect, and dignity are essential.

The church believes in healing through faith. They follow biblical expressions of worship. They pray together aloud. They lift their hands in praise. They sing with all their hearts. Musical instruments accompany their worship. They clap and shout to God. They dance before the Lord. They testify publicly. They anoint with oil for healing.
