Here at the Lowcountry Graduate Center dreams take flight. Established in 2001 the Lowcountry Graduate Center or LGC aimed to boost graduate-level education. It supports the Charleston region of South Carolina.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center was created because business and legislative leaders worried about losing high-tech companies. They realized the region needed more graduate opportunities. This would attract and keep both employees and new businesses.

The LGC unites Lowcountry public universities. These are the College of Charleston, the Medical University of South Carolina and The Citadel. Together, they provide accessible graduate programs. The University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University also partner with the LGC.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center focuses on Charleston’s economic growth. It stays connected with local Chambers of Commerce. These organizations emphasize advanced manufacturing, IT, healthcare, community wellness and K-12 education.

The Citadel has actively participated in the Lowcountry Graduate Center since its start. They provide Project Management and Engineering courses. The Citadel is excited to keep partnering with the Lowcountry Graduate Center. They aim to broaden in-person course offerings. These courses are intended to fulfill the community’s needs in North Charleston.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center moved to Trident Technical College in August 2020. Previously it was on the College of Charleston North Campus. This was formerly the home of CofC’s School of Professional Studies.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center is conveniently located on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. Working professionals can enhance their skills and advance their careers here. The location offers extended hours. It provides in-person and hybrid graduate-level programs. The digital classrooms have strong support services. Free parking is available. Programs lead to degrees, academic certificates or certificates of completion.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center’s location in Building 920 at Trident Tech helps extend program hours. Weekend classes and services now complement existing evening offerings. Resources include computer labs, high-speed internet, a conference space and Relish. Relish is Trident Tech’s fine dining restaurant. LGC students can access student break rooms and dedicated classroom spaces.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center addresses the growing demand from major manufacturing companies such as Volvo. It provides a central location near I-26 exits and Airport Road from Boeing. The LGC also engages with the Metro Charleston Chamber’s Career Academies.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center is a state-funded organization. It partners with top-rated universities to provide graduate programs. These programs cover education, engineering, social work, business, health and community wellness.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center ensures local students have resources for career advancement. It develops new partnerships if required programs are unavailable.

The Lowcountry Graduate Center operates in a contemporary teaching section. It features modern technology and student support services.
