James Madison High School. A beacon of education and opportunity. You might be surprised to learn that this school was once temporarily called the “James Madison Academy of International Education.” That’s quite a mouthful! Opened on September 8, 1965, James Madison High School originally served both junior and senior high students. However, it didn’t take long for the school to transition to solely serving grades 10 through 12. In a testament to its enduring legacy, James Madison High School has been a pillar of this community for decades. It has seen its share of changes over the years, even experimenting with different grade configurations. Did you know that in the fall of 1981, it briefly welcomed back ninth-graders? Today, James Madison High School continues to nurture young minds, preparing them for a future full of possibilities.
