The roar of the crowd. The thunder of hooves. This is Hanshin Racecourse.

Here before us stands a monument to speed and elegance. Hanshin Racecourse in Takarazuka Hyogo is more than just a racetrack. It’s a piece of Japanese history. Originally owned by the Kawanishi Aircraft Company it produced combat planes during World War II. After the war it was repurposed. In 1949 Keihanshin Keiba K.K built Hanshin Racecourse. It later transferred to the Japan Racing Association in 1955.

Imagine the transformation. From wartime industry to a vibrant hub of sporting competition. The course underwent major reconstructions in 1991 and again in 2006. The 2006 renovation added a massive 400-meter extension to the outer turf oval. This impressive expansion brought the total length to an impressive 2089 meters. The project also sadly removed older shorter chutes.

Hanshin Racecourse isn’t just about the length of its tracks. It hosts some of Japan’s most prestigious races. The Takarazuka Kinen. The Osaka Hai. The Oka Sho. And the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. These races draw massive crowds. The racecourse boasts a capacity of 139000 spectators. Millions more bet on the races annually.

The course itself is a marvel of engineering. Two turf courses a dirt course and a jump course offer thrilling variety. The turf’s outer oval and inner oval offer differing race lengths. Chutes allow for races at various distances. Races are run on either the A Course or the B Course rail setting. The dirt course adds another dimension to the racing experience.

But Hanshin Racecourse is more than just numbers and races. It’s a place of passion a place of dreams. It’s where the thrill of competition meets the beauty of the thoroughbred horse. It is a place where history and excitement collide. It’s a place you’ll never forget. So take a moment to soak in the atmosphere. Let the energy of Hanshin Racecourse wash over you. You are witnessing a legacy a tradition a spectacle.
