Established in 1970 the Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung – \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a stands as a public high school in Hanoi. It has witnessed many changes over the decades. Now let us explore its history.
The Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung – \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a is located at 178 L\u00e1ng Street. This address in Th\u1ecbnh Quang Ward is in \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a District. The school’s journey began as C\u1ea5p III s\u1ed1 3 in August 1970. It held evening classes at the then C\u1ea5p III \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a School.
In August 1971 C\u1ea5p III Tam Kh\u01b0\u01a1ng was established. Classes took place behind Kh\u01b0\u01a1ng Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng communal house. During the 1972-1973 academic year the school moved to Kho\u00e1i Ch\u00e2u. This is in H\u01b0ng Y\u00ean. It was renamed C\u1ea5p III T\u00e2y S\u01a1n.
The years 1974-1975 marked a change. Both C\u1ea5p III s\u1ed1 3 and C\u1ea5p III T\u00e2y S\u01a1n relocated to 178 L\u00e1ng Street. At that time C\u1ea5p III s\u1ed1 3 became known as Th\u00e1i Th\u1ecbnh School. It held afternoon sessions. C\u1ea5p III T\u00e2y S\u01a1n held morning classes.
In the 1976-1977 academic year the two schools merged. They became C\u1ea5p III T\u00e2y S\u01a1n. A year later they separated again. They were renamed Ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng trung h\u1ecdc T\u00e2y S\u01a1n and Ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng trung h\u1ecdc Nguy\u1ec5n Hu\u1ec7.
August 25 1993 was another milestone. The People’s Committee of Hanoi City issued Decision No. 3178. This decision merged Ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng trung h\u1ecdc T\u00e2y S\u01a1n and Ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng trung h\u1ecdc Nguy\u1ec5n Hu\u1ec7. A new school was formed and named Ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng trung h\u1ecdc Quang Trung. Later it became Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung.
After H\u00e0 T\u00e2y province merged into H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i the school’s name changed once more. On January 23 2009 the city’s People’s Committee issued Decision No. 489. Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung became Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung – \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a.
The campus covers 12000 square meters. It includes a four-story building with 30 classrooms. There is also a four-story administration building. This includes meeting rooms and specialized rooms. The Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung – \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a also has a multi-purpose hall. It has physics chemistry and biology labs. Computer rooms and a library are available. The school also offers a gym a soccer field and gardens.
From 1970 to 2001 the school was recognized as an advanced school. From 2001 to 2023 it was honored as an outstanding advanced school. In 2005 the Prime Minister presented a certificate of merit. November 17 2008 marked the reception of the Third-class Labor Medal. The Tr\u01b0\u1eddng Trung h\u1ecdc ph\u1ed5 th\u00f4ng Quang Trung – \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a achieved national standard status in the 2012-2013 academic year. In 2020 the school received the Second-class Labor Medal.
