Perhaps you have heard of Shenzhen’s western peak. That’s where we find Yangtai Diecui. In 2004, it was named one of the Shenzhen Eight Scenic Wonders.

Yangtai Diecui sits within Yangtai Mountain Forest Park. The park is in Shenzhen’s northwest. It covers 28.52 square kilometers. The highest peak in the park is Dayangtai Mountain. It rises 587.1 meters. This makes it Shenzhen’s highest peak in the west.

There are trails for hiking to enjoy the scenery. You can relax and keep fit. One route goes from Dalang Shengli Grand Rescue Square to the top of Xiaoyangtai Mountain. This route includes the Shenzhen Ring City Greenway and Guanhuyuan Pavilion. You will also pass by Longxi Bridge and Banyue Pavilion. Other sights include Wolong Relic Egg and Lan Shengtai. The route ends at Xiaoyangtai Mountain or Yangtai Diecui. It takes about three hours.

Another route starts at the Shiyan Yangtai Mountain entrance. This path leads to the Ancient Road Site and Botanical Corridor. You’ll see Tianzuo Stone and the Hundred Meter Bamboo Path. This route ends at the top of Dayangtai Mountain. It takes about five hours.

A third route begins at the Greenway Taozhu entrance. It passes by Xie Shuiguan and Liufang Pavilion. Then it continues to Yangtai Xuan and Zhujingtongyou. This route ends at Yangtai Diecui or Xiaoyangtai Mountain Peak. It takes roughly three hours.

Yangtai Mountain is called “Forest Green Lung, City Oxygen Bar”. Its valleys are secluded. The lakes are clear. Pick a nice day to hike with friends.

When you come to Yangtai Mountain, visit the Longhua Ring City Greenway. It opened January 30, 2019. It connects Yangtai Mountain Forest Park, Laiwu Mountain, and Lengshuikeng. It also connects the Gaofeng three reservoirs. This greenway is known as “Shenzhen’s most beautiful greenway”. It features eighteen scenic spots. These include Zhujingtongyou and Butterfly Valley. There is also Wolong Relic Egg and Yunxi Valley. Other sights are Qixian Spring and Yulin Bay. The greenway is 27.9 kilometers long.

Other scenic spots include Butterfly Valley. Natural streams and boulders mark it. Wild ginger flowers attract butterflies and birds. Lying Dragon Remains Egg features a trestle road. It resembles a dragon resting in the valley.

Mountain and City Connected offers a 270-degree viewing area. It blends city views and natural scenery. Yunxi Valley is a place for camping and relaxing. Here, you can experience a delightful surprise.

Yulin Bay provides a platform to view the Gaofeng Reservoir. The saying goes: “Searching all over Yangtai, the most beautiful is Yulin Bay”. Qixian Spring evokes traditional landscape paintings.

At Zhujingtongyou, you’ll forget the city noise. Experience a peaceful life among green bamboo.
Lanshengtai is a two-story viewing platform. It offers views of layered peaks. All the beauty is in sight.

Today, Yangtai Diecui, or Xiaoyangtai Mountain Peak, is a place to relax. It’s a place to appreciate nature’s beauty. Remember this as you enjoy the view. It’s more than just a scenic spot. It represents Shenzhen’s blend of nature and progress.
