Nestled in Hyogo Prefecture, Naruo High School has witnessed a fascinating evolution. In 1942, the Naruo Village Council dreamt of a local junior high school. This dream materialized in 1943 when Naruo Junior High School received official approval. The building itself was completed in 1945. A few years later, in 1948, Naruo Junior High transformed into Naruo Senior High School. This period also marked a significant shift as the school became co-educational through an exchange with Sumiyoshi Senior High School. Naruo High School’s connection with Hyogo Prefecture deepened in 1950, when it officially became Hyogo Prefectural Naruo Senior High School. Fast forward to 1986, Naruo High School broadened its horizons with the establishment of the English Course. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1993, marking a half-century of educational growth. The 21st century brought more changes to Naruo High School. In 2003, the Global Interaction Course was added to the curriculum. The same year, Naruo High School marked another milestone with its 60th-anniversary celebration. Continuing its tradition of growth and adaptation, Naruo High School saw the establishment of the Department of Global Communication in 2011. The seaside school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2009. Naruo High School isn’t just about academics. It offers a diverse range of club activities, from baseball and rugby to cultural pursuits like story writing, calligraphy, and even a brass band.
