In July 2016, Wildwood Baptist Church made a remarkable announcement. Led by divine inspiration, they decided to gift a 2.4-million-dollar property to Ideal Church. This act of generosity marked a pivotal moment for Ideal Church.

Ideal Church began in 1980. Bishop Roberto J. Bunkar and a small group met in a two-bedroom home. They wanted to reach the lost souls of Houston. This humble beginning set the stage for future growth.

A year later, Ideal Church purchased its first property on Yale Street. By 1986, Oscar J. Bunkar Bautista became the pastor. The church flourished, especially the children’s ministry. The growing congregation needed a larger space.

In 1992, Ideal Church acquired the Granada Theater on Jensen Drive. This move provided more room for worship. The church continued to grow and serve its community.

Pastor Oscar J. Bunkar Bautista moved to Seattle in September 2001. He planted a new church there. Pastor Oscar David J. Bunkar took over in Houston. In 2003, the church relocated to Spring, Texas. It continued its mission to spread the gospel.

Then came the extraordinary gift from Wildwood Baptist Church. On August 7, 2016, a procession took place. Led by Pastor Oscar J. Bunkar Bautista, the congregation moved. They traveled from 3131 FM 2920 to 5110 Louetta Road. This became the new home of Ideal Church.

Wildwood Baptist Church’s gift allowed Ideal Church to expand its ministry. They support world missions and home missions. They have planted churches in the United States and Mexico. Their commitment to spreading the gospel remains strong.
