The Church of the Holy Spirit, standing tall on Ballbutcher Lane, has a story to tell. Let’s step inside and listen. In the heart of suburban Dublin, this haven of faith was built in 1971. For decades, it has been a beacon of hope, a gathering space, and a place of quiet reflection for the community. In those early years, Greenhills was a rapidly growing area, bursting with young families. This church was built to meet their spiritual needs. The Sisters of Charity of St. Paul the Apostle donated land for its construction. And in 1971, the parish was handed over to the care of the Spiritans (the Holy Ghost Fathers). The church has seen many baptisms, confirmations, and marriages. It’s a place where life’s joys and sorrows are shared and where faith is strengthened.
