Hidden amongst the Brussels sprawl lies Luxor Parc a residential area with a captivating past. Imagine a time when Luxor Egypt was the height of fashion. Architect Rene Lebrun named this sloping two-hectare plot Luxor Parc. He envisioned luxurious villas. His ambitious plan included a prestigious tennis club the Luxor Tennis Club. This exclusive club added to the area’s allure.

Lebrun’s vision was realised in part. The Luxor Tennis Club thrived for a while. It attracted the city’s elite. Later it was sold to the Union Miniere du Haut Katanga. It became the Albert Ier Tennis Club. Sadly even this prestigious name could not save the club. It eventually closed its doors.

Luxor Parc however lived on. The street itself received its name from the estate. Number 20 was occupied long before the street had a name. Today the area remains a testament to Lebrun’s grand vision. It retains its unique name a subtle nod to the glamorous past it once held. The winding streets are quiet yet elegant. The past lingers in the architecture. The grand villas stand as silent witnesses to the area’s history. The Luxor Parc legacy is not about a grand building. It is a story of ambition vision and subtle glamour in a quiet Brussels neighborhood. It is a captivating story embedded in the very fabric of its street names and quiet residential life. It’s a reminder that even in a bustling city hidden gems of history and stories whisper their secrets to those who pause to listen.
