“Yes, and…” That’s not just a saying. It is a way of life here at Bovine Metropolis Theater. This isn’t just any theater. It’s a place where ideas are always accepted and built upon. Welcome to Denver’s home for improv comedy.

Bovine Metropolis Theater is located at 1527 Champa Street. This location wasn’t always part of a bustling theater district. In 2000, the neighborhood had pawnshops and a condemned restaurant. But Eric Farone and Denise Maes saw potential. They opened the Bovine Metropolis Theater and helped transform the area.

The Bovine Metropolis Theater became a cornerstone of Denver’s improv community. Eric Farone returned to his hometown after honing his skills in Chicago. He and Denise Maes created a groundbreaking improv comedy troupe. Their shows were innovative and attracted large crowds.

Farone and Maes also founded The Bovine School of Improv. This school is devoted to training new players. It started in a humble basement. Today, over 800 students have graduated.

The Bovine Metropolis Theater offers many different shows. They perform eight times a week. The theater is always full of fresh talented students.

One of Bovine’s longest-running shows is Improv Hootenanny. Every Monday, improv troupes from across the state perform. This open-stage concept generated excitement about improv and the Bovine.

The Bovine Metropolis Theater won “Best Improv and Comedy Space” by Westword in 2001. This award recognized its importance to Denver’s comedy scene.

Beyond performances, Bovine Metropolis Theater impacts the business world. Farone and Maes launched Apixii Applied Improvisation. They use improv to conduct business training. Top-tier business schools now offer improv classes. These classes help students increase collaboration and creativity.

So, step inside the Bovine Metropolis Theater. Experience the laughter and creativity. See why this theater is more than just a performance space. It is a community. A school. A business incubator. The Bovine Metropolis Theater is Denver’s premier improv destination.
