“A park for relaxing.” Does that sound good? Parc de l’Orée-du-Fleuve is just that. It is a place to unwind. Welcome to Parc de l’Orée-du-Fleuve. This park is a haven for taking in natural scenery. Or you can enjoy outdoor activities.
Parc de l’Orée-du-Fleuve offers simple pleasures. It provides a children’s playground. There is also a drinking fountain. These amenities enhance your visit.
Kids will love the playground here. It has brightly colored rubber flooring. This is perfect for running around. The playground is fenced. Latching gates add security. The big-kid structure is quite impressive. It features a super-duper-high rock climbing wall. Maybe it is not for little kids. The wall leads to a platform. From there, you can enjoy two slides.
Underneath is another small platform. This one features an activity wall. Some of the Gizmos are missing. But the rest of the structure offers a lot. There are monkey bars. Trapeze rings are also featured. You can find sky wheels too. Another rock-climbing wall awaits. It is missing some rocks. There are various climbers. A balance board is available. You can jump from pod to pod. Or run across them. There’s also a Tilted Sky Runner. This is for the bigger kids.
Little kids will also enjoy trying things. But some of the equipment needs repair. The rubber flooring is ripped. It has huge holes. One metal support column has a big, sharp, dangerous gash. Many of the wall features need fixing. However, you can still have a lot of fun.
The toddler structure is in the same fenced area. It is down a step into the sand. It is easy and small. The structure is built in two parts. There are “through the air” steps connecting the two. These are also known as the Challenge Canyon Bridge. Both sides have a staircase and slides. There is an easy-to-climb Clover Leaf Climber. Gizmos are on one side. The monkey bars are shorter than usual. They feature sunken tires. But there are no swings here.
A small splash pad makes up for that. It’s in front of the large climber. The splash pad is near the road. But it is still within the same fenced area. There is a rubber base. The water comes out from various spots in the ground. You can run through a tunnel of sprays.
Outside the fenced area, you will find a drinking fountain. Benches are available too. Follow the path down a few feet. You will discover the beautiful walking and biking trail. It circles almost the entire island. Follow the water. Go in and out of the shade. See boats. Impressive highrises are there to see. Smell the poplar trees.
The big-kid park and splash pad are wheelchair accessible. However, there isn’t much to do at ground level. There is only street parking. Watch the signs. There is very little shade. If any.
Parc de l’Orée-du-Fleuve is open daily. You can visit from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. It is the perfect place to relax any day of the week. Come and enjoy the simple pleasures this park offers. From playgrounds to walking trails. Parc de l’Orée-du-Fleuve has something for everyone.
