His vision lives on through the Reverend Sisters of Pammakaristos. For forty years the Foundation has provided daily educational programs. These programs help adults develop crucial skills. These skills are essential for their professional lives. They pave the way for equal participation in society.
The Pammakaristos Foundation isn’t just a place of learning. It’s a place of community. It’s a place of belonging. It offers day and residential care. Imagine the comfort found in the six specialized training laboratories. Think of the three courses in Daily Living Procedures. Visualize the twelve girls finding a home in the Foundation’s boarding school. These services extend to over 5000 beneficiaries. Currently 103 adults find support and education here.
The Foundation occupies 6000 square meters. It’s located in Nea Makri Attica. This makes it one of Greece’s oldest specialized centers. It focuses on the educational approach to autism. The Pammakaristos Foundation’s impact is far-reaching. For the past two years it’s been a full member of EASPD. This is the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities. It’s also a founding member of DIKTYO. That’s the Network of Services for People with Disabilities.
The spirit of Bishop Halavazis continues to inspire. With the support of Bishop Emmanuel Nin and the Sisters of Pammakaristos. The social service work continues. Caritas Theia Pronoia and Caritas Hellas assist vulnerable families. They uphold the Christian principles of the Foundation’s founder.
