Established in 2000, this public high school isn’t just a place of learning. It’s a pre-conservatory, nurturing the next generation of artists, musicians, dancers, actors, and visual artists. Brooklyn High School of the Arts pulsates with the rhythm of creativity. Students majoring in fine arts, dance, instrumental music, theater, or vocal music hone their skills. The first graduating class of Brooklyn High School of the Arts crossed the stage in 2004, including hip-hop artist Jeannie Ortega. Today, nearly 900 students from grades 9 through 12 fill these halls. Beyond the core curriculum, Brooklyn High School of the Arts offers a rich tapestry of extracurriculars. The school even offers summer internships through the Preservation Arts program.
