Hidden amidst the urban tapestry of Kuala Lumpur, the Persatuan Penganut Dewa Wah Put temple awaits discovery. This small temple, also known as Shan Ling Gong, resides near a larger temple in Kampung Kasipillay. Persatuan Penganut Dewa Wah Put is dedicated to Ji Gong Huo Fo. He is often depicted with a wine bottle and buddhist robes. Ji Gong is known for his mystical fan and his ability to mysteriously help those in need. He is believed to be the incarnation of Xiang Long Luo Han, one of the legendary Eighteen Lou Han. Finding Persatuan Penganut Dewa Wah Put can be a challenge. It is tucked away from public view, without signage. It is said only those destined to find this place will. Despite its hidden location, Persatuan Penganut Dewa Wah Put boasts a devoted following from diverse backgrounds. The temple has a distinctive open-air design, lacking walls. This architectural choice, according to the caretaker, is meant to evoke a sense of nature, openness, and freedom. The area once had a large garden with fruit trees. Unfortunately, a developer purchased the surrounding land, leaving limited space in front of the temple. The main altar is simple, hosting multiple deities. Among them are Goddess Guan Yin Pu Sa, Fa Zhu Gong, Da Bo Gong, Guang Ze Zun Wang, General Zhao Gong Ming, Guan Sheng Da Di, Na Zha San Tai Zi, and Qi Tian Da Sheng. A smaller shrine nearby is dedicated to the local guardian deity Na Du Gong and the White Tiger deity, Bai Hu. A shelf displays numerous bottles of Wu Chia Pi liquor, used by Ji Gong during mediumship. This liquor is believed to have medicinal properties. A green room adjacent to the main altar houses Yin deities, including Cheng Huang Ye, Da Bo Ye, Er Bo Ye, Xiao Zi Ye, and Niu Tou Ma Mian. Larger statues of Da Bo Ye and Er Bo Ye are also positioned near the main altar. The main Ji Gong deity has a unique story. Years ago, two teenagers found the statue on a tree branch. One of the boys, a practicing medium, felt compelled to bring the deity home. Over time, people seeking a Ji Gong medium began to visit. The number of devotees grew, necessitating a larger altar and incense pot. Eventually, the growing congregation led to the construction of a separate altar in the garden. A wooden house next to it serves as a meditation space and living quarters for the caretaker and members. Inside, a large mural of Ji Gong Huo Fo adorns the living hall. Unfortunately, Persatuan Penganut Dewa Wah Put faced a demolition order due to a land dispute. It was claimed that the temple encroached on neighboring property, although territorial plans suggest otherwise. Hopefully, this conflict has reached a peaceful resolution, allowing Persatuan Penganut Dewa Wah Put to continue serving its community.
