Could a place in Denver Heights hold the key to an abundant life? Abundant Life Church of God In Christ has graced San Antonio since 1976. Its story begins in a humble corner, the intersection of Denver and St. Anthony. It was there that Pastor Neftalí Ozuna first planted the seeds of faith. Imagine the vibrant energy as the church thrived under Pastor Manuel De La Garza and Paula, his wife. For two decades they led, fostering a community that filled the building to its brim. Abundant Life Church of God In Christ wasn’t meant to be confined. In 1998, Eliezer and Dorcas Bonilla, along with their three children, took the helm. They felt a call, a divine nudge, to guide the congregation towards something extraordinary. By 2000, their journey led them to a new home in Southeast San Antonio. This marked a turning point. The church bloomed, its congregation growing from 200 to a staggering 1,800. Their secret? A potent blend of cell groups and unwavering dedication to discipleship. They understood that faith flourishes in intimate settings and through dedicated guidance. Abundant Life Church of God In Christ now holds court in two locations: Abundant Life South and Abundant Life North. It stands as a testament to the power of a shared vision, reminding us that an abundant life isn’t a destination but a journey, paved with faith, community, and a little bit of San Antonio spirit.
