One quiet evening in 2017, a simple observation sparked the journey of Mid-City Vineyard Church. During a home group gathering, Aarti Sequeria casually mentioned the lack of churches in their neighborhood. This struck a chord with Sandra, who felt a calling to address this spiritual void in Mid-City, Los Angeles. Sandra discovered that Mid-City was one of the least churched neighborhoods in a city already known for its low church attendance. She began to pray and research, a seed of an idea beginning to germinate. That summer, at a Vineyard Leaders conference, she connected with the ARC Church Planting organization. She felt a powerful urge to partner with them in planting a new church in Mid-City. Mid-City Vineyard Church wasn’t just an idea anymore. It was becoming a mission. Sandra shared her vision, and one by one, friends joined her team. Months of planning, praying, and securing a location culminated in the official launch of Mid-City Vineyard Church in January 2019. The launch team consisted of around 45 dedicated individuals. Within a year, the congregation grew to over 100 adults and children. With a welcoming “Welcome Home” banner, Mid-City Vineyard Church provided a sense of belonging and a place to experience God. In that first year, over 40 people decided to follow Christ. Every week was a new adventure, with new people joining the community. The church witnessed lives being healed and restored, people finding hope in Jesus. Mid-City Vineyard Church became more than just a building. It became a beacon of faith, a testament to the power of a simple observation and a dedicated heart.
