What secrets does the village of Chapa hold? Chapa is nestled beside the Rio Tâmega. It sits on the border between the Porto and Braga districts in Portugal. Chapa is part of the union of parishes of Vila Garcia, Aboim, and Chapa, within the municipality of Amarante. Once an independent parish, Chapa joined with Vila Garcia and Aboim in 2013. This union created the new parish of Vila Garcia, Aboim e Chapa. This change reflects a broader administrative reorganization in Portugal. Despite no longer being its own entity, the village of Chapa retains its unique character. It remains a testament to its history along the Rio Tâmega.
