Have you ever wondered about the origins of a church that grew from just 32 people to a thriving congregation of over 24,000 families? Stand here before Brookhollow Baptist Church, a place where faith took root, and watch the story unfold. The Church Without Walls, as it is affectionately known, began in 1987 as a Bible study in the home of its founder, Dr. Ralph Douglas West. The seed of faith planted by West, a passionate preacher with a gift for storytelling, sprouted rapidly, and his congregation outgrew their humble beginnings. It was decided that the walls of a traditional building could not constrain the message of the gospel, so the church took on the name “The Church Without Walls.” They soon migrated from the Brookhollow Marriott Hotel to the old Houston Business Journal, spreading their message of faith. Today, Brookhollow Baptist Church proudly stands in Houston, a testament to the power of faith and community. While their name reflects a spirit that transcends physical boundaries, the church has now grown to three campuses across Houston, each buzzing with the energy of a vibrant, faith-filled community.
