In the heart of The Gap, a peaceful suburb of Brisbane, stands St Peter Chanel. This unassuming yet beautiful church holds a special place in the community. St Peter Chanel itself opened its doors to the world in 1980. The first mass was held on December 21st just days before Christmas. The official blessing however came later in February of the following year. Before the construction of St Peter Chanel, the parish held services in the local RSL and even earlier at Mater Dei Church. St Peter Chanel stands as a testament to the growth and evolution of this community. It represents a place where faith and community intertwine. Next time you are in The Gap, take a moment to appreciate the tranquil beauty of St Peter Chanel.
