Originally, the site was planned as a secondary school center. This center was to include a primary school, a comprehensive school, and the Gymnasium Allermöhe. Wischhusen Architekten designed the complex between 1992 and 1997. The Gesamtschule Fährbuernfleet closed in 2008. After its departure, the buildings were partially renovated.
