Born from a legacy of social service Yuva Parivartan stands as a testament to unwavering dedication. It’s a story that began long ago with Balasaheb Gangadhar Kher a passionate freedom fighter. He established the Kherwadi Social Welfare Association in 1928. His vision extended beyond political activism to encompass the upliftment of the underprivileged.

Yuva Parivartan’s roots lie in this early work. Balasaheb Kher witnessed firsthand the plight of migrants living in harsh conditions. He formed a committee to help them. This committee evolved into what we know today as Kherwadi Bandra East. Even while deeply involved in the Indian freedom struggle working alongside Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru he ensured Kherwadi’s work continued.

The legacy of the Kher family continued. In the 1990s Kishor Kher left a lucrative corporate job. He and his wife Mrinalini a sociologist were driven by a desire to empower India’s youth. Their shared passion birthed Yuva Parivartan in 1998. Formally launched in 2003 by President A P J Abdul Kalam Yuva Parivartan solidified its commitment to providing a second chance. It offers vocational training programs. These help school dropouts become economically independent.

Yuva Parivartan isn’t just about skills training. It’s about community engagement placement support and partnerships. The organization has expanded significantly. It now operates across several states with numerous training centers. Its impact is far-reaching. Success stories abound. For instance Dnyaneshwar Gosavi a wireman trained by Yuva Parivartan now earns a respectable income. His journey represents the transformative potential of the organization.

The organization boasts a dedicated team. Kishor Kher leads as President and Trustee. Mrinalini Kher serves as Honorary Secretary and Trustee. The esteemed Advisory Board includes prominent figures like R Gopalkrishnan former Director of Tata Sons and Alok Kshirsagar Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company. Their expertise and guidance further strengthen Yuva Parivartan’s mission.

Yuva Parivartan is more than an NGO. It is a symbol of hope. It embodies the enduring spirit of social responsibility. It offers a lifeline to countless young people empowering them to shape their own futures and contribute meaningfully to society. Their work continues. The legacy lives on. The transformation continues.
