“What if a church could move?” I muse aloud as we approach Nhu00e0 thu1edd Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0.

Nhu00e0 thu1edd Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0 began as a community born from migration. Its roots trace back to Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Tru00e0 Cu1ed5 in Mu00f3ng Cu00e1i, Quu1ea3ng Ninh.

In 1954 some members of Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Tru00e0 Cu1ed5 moved to Hu1ed1 Nai. This area is about 7 km from Biu00ean Hu00f2a along National Route 1. Initially they formed a group within Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Nam Hu1ea3i. More people arrived from various places. They established Giu00e1o hu1ecd Tru00e0 Cu1ed5.

On March 19 1971 Giu00e1o hu1ecd Tru00e0 Cu1ed5 became Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Tru00e0 Cu1ed5 II. Bishop Giuse Lu00ea Vu0103n u1ea4n appointed Father Phaolu00f4 Nguyu1ec5n Vu0103n Nhu00e2n as the first parish priest.

Father Gioan Baotixita Nguyu1ec5n Thu00e1i Chu01b0u1edfng succeeded Father Phaolu00f4 in late 1971. One year later Father Gioan Baotixita and the Tru00e0 Cu1ed5 community built a church. It measured 16m x 45m. It served as a place for Mass and prayer.

In 1997 Bishop Phaolu00f4 Maria Nguyu1ec5n Minh Nhu1eadt renamed Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Tru00e0 Cu1ed5 II to Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0. Over time the Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0 community added a catechism house and a temple to Saint Joseph.

In 2010 Father Giuse Nguyu1ec5n u00dd u0110u1ecbnh became in charge of Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0. He improved the spiritual life of the community. Father Giuse helped complete facilities such as the rest stop and Our Lady’s altar. Father Giuse Du01b0u01a1ng u0110u1ee9c Hu01b0ng was appointed to oversee the parish in 2019.

Today Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0 has stable activities and unity. The parish life is growing stronger. This Catholic church has Mass every day. It takes place at 5:00 and 18:00. On Saturdays Mass takes place at 5:00 and 17:30. On Sundays Mass takes place at 5:00 6:30 15:00 and 17:30.

The parish is located in Hu1ed1 Nai. To the east it borders Trung Nghu0129a parish. To the west it borders Bu1eafc Hu1ea3i parish. To the south it borders Nam Hu1ea3i parish. To the north it borders Tru1ea3ng Du00e0i ward. It covers 22 hectares.

The current priest is Giuse Du01b0u01a1ng u0110u1ee9c Hu01b0ng since September 2019. The community observes its feast day on the first Sunday of May. The Dominican Sisters of Ba Ria have a community in Xuu00e2n Tru00e0.

Giu00e1o xu1ee9 Xuu00e2n Tru00e0 stands as a testament to faith community and resilience. It embodies the journey of people who moved seeking new beginnings.
