“Dreams predominant.” That’s the artistic philosophy of Mr. Poes, the creator of this captivating Mars Mural.

We’re standing in front of the Mars Mural at Mandi House Metro station in Delhi. It is a vibrant explosion of color and imagination. The Mars Mural isn’t just paint on a wall. It is a symbol of friendship.

The French Institute in India invited Mr. Poes to create these murals. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation provided the space at Mandi House Metro station. Look around at exit gates 3 and 4. The Mars Mural is here.

Mr. Poes drew inspiration from French gardens. These gardens are known as ‘jardin à la française’. They are based on symmetry and order. But Mr. Poes adds his own twist.

The Mars Mural features myriad creatures. They cohabit in a vibrant space. The mural honors the enduring friendship between India and France.

This artwork marked a significant occasion. It was one of the first cultural events celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence. It also marked the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and India. France has a long history of street art.

Public art makes art accessible. It brings art to the streets. Ms. Dana Purcarescu said art should be accessible to everyone.

Mr. Poes was born in Paris. He lives in Lyon. He has been creating graffiti art since 1998. Comics and manga heroes influenced him.

Mr. Poes believes public art is important. It’s not just for the elites. He sees it as a democratization of painting. He uses humor and satire. He turns his paintings into poetic odes.

The Embassy of France and the French Institute in India envisioned this project. They collaborated with the Ministry of External Affairs.

Fabian, also known as Mr. Poes, began painting on February 15th. It took him about a week to complete the Mars Mural. The artwork was inaugurated on February 26th. The inauguration included an Opera Aria. Artists from the Neemrana Music Foundation performed.

Take a closer look at the Mars Mural. Notice the details. Appreciate the artistry. This is more than just a painting. It’s a celebration of Indo-French friendship. It’s a gift to the people of Delhi.

The Mars Mural invites us to dream. It encourages us to find poetry in everyday life. It reminds us that art belongs to everyone. As you leave Mandi House Metro station, carry this vibrant image. Remember the power of art. Remember the enduring friendship between India and France, all captured in this incredible Mars Mural.
