Cluysenaar also designed the Royal Theatre of the Galleries. It opened its doors on June 7 1847. This theater became one of Brussels’s three royal theaters. It hosted operettas and revues.

The Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries received recognition as a historic monument in 1986. They were submitted for UNESCO World Heritage status in 2008. The King’s Gallery is home to the Museum of Letters and Manuscripts. It honors great figures in art, history, music, the humanities, and science.
