They owned Kunnersdorf until 1772. Later the Belgian ambassador Jean-Baptiste Baron de Nothomb owned the estate. He used the Altes Schloss Kunnersdorf for political and economic discussions. Guests from across Europe attended. He even designed the English landscape garden inspired by Bad Muskau’s Fürst-Pückler-Park. The Altes Schloss Kunnersdorf served as the gardener’s house.

The Altes Schloss Kunnersdorf’s construction date is uncertain. Architectural styles suggest it was built in the first half of the 18th century. It might be older though. The two-story building is rectangular with a mansard roof. The facade features subtle Baroque elements. Niches once held Baroque sculptures.
