Riksbyggen, a large housing cooperative, envisioned a modern urban paradise. They built three different areas to suit everyone: Gula Hőja, Rőda Hőja, and Vita Hőja. These names, meaning the Yellow, Red, and White Hőja, were chosen to represent the colorful variety of life in the area. The colorful houses were a stark contrast to the greyness of postwar Sweden, creating a vibrant atmosphere that attracted families, young couples, and artists alike. While the cityscape has evolved since then, the friendly, community spirit lingers on. These buildings still offer a glimpse into a bygone era, and the modern world is still woven in with those golden days.
