Isn’t it striking how Shenzhen’s skyline constantly evolves? Today, we focus on a vision, the H700 Shenzhen Tower also known as Longfeng Tower.

Longfeng Tower is planned to be a megatall skyscraper. This ambitious project aims to reach a height of 608 meters. That is about 1995 feet. It will have 130 floors. The tower is designed by bKL Architecture. This is a Chicago-based company.

Imagine standing at the base of Longfeng Tower. You look up, and up and up. The sheer scale is breathtaking. Longfeng Tower is poised to become a significant landmark. It will symbolize Shenzhen’s ambition.

Shenzhen is already home to many skyscrapers. Over 451 completed skyscrapers are taller than 150 meters. That’s about 492 feet. 185 of these are taller than 200 meters which equals 656 feet. This makes Shenzhen a city with one of the largest concentrations of skyscrapers in the world.

The Ping An Finance Centre is currently the tallest building in Shenzhen. It stands at 599 meters. That is 1,965 feet tall. It has 115 stories. The KK100 is the second-tallest completed building. It measures 442 meters. That equals 1,450 feet. It has 100 floors.

Skyscraper construction in Shenzhen began in 1978. At that time, the tallest building in the city was five stories tall. In the following decade, 300 high-rises were erected. The Guomao Building was the city’s first skyscraper. It was the tallest building in mainland China when it opened in 1985.

As Shenzhen’s high-rise construction boom progressed into the 1990s, the skyscrapers became taller. From 1996 to 2006, 18 buildings taller than 200 meters were completed. The Diwang Building also known as Shun Hing Square was the first to exceed 300 meters which is 984 feet.

Most of Shenzhen’s skyscrapers are in the Luohu, Futian, and Nanshan districts. Shenzhen’s skyscraper boom is due to its status as one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.

The proposed Shenzhen 800 Landmark Tower is another ambitious project. It aims to create a global landmark. It will solidify the city’s status as a technology and financial hub. The tower is designed with a series of structural tubes. These taper and step in height. The last occupiable floor is planned at 740 meters. It will serve as the world’s tallest observation deck.

The 140-story tower will include office space, a five-star hotel, residential units, and retail. The overall development includes a large urban park.

Longfeng Tower and other planned skyscrapers demonstrate Shenzhen’s continuous growth. It is becoming a global metropolis. Keep an eye on Shenzhen’s skyline. The city continues to reach for new heights.
