In the heart of Dobong District stands Hanil Hospital, a beacon of medical innovation and community care. It’s not just a building; it’s a living testament to 81 years of dedication, serving the people of Seoul. Hanil Hospital isn’t just any hospital. It’s the only general hospital in Dobong District with such a rich history. The hospital boasts 500 patient beds and 23 clinical departments, each staffed with expert medical teams. They utilize cutting-edge medical technologies and state-of-the-art equipment. Hanil Hospital also holds a crucial position in the region. Designated as the sole “regional emergency medical center” in Dobong and Gangbuk, it provides 24/7 emergency care by specialized professionals. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has consistently recognized Hanil Hospital’s excellence. It achieved second place among Seoul’s emergency medical centers in 2002 and first place in the Seoul region’s general sector in 2003. Furthermore, it has been designated as the best regional emergency medical center every year since 2008. Beyond general care, Hanil Hospital has established itself as a leader in specialized treatments. It houses Korea’s leading burn treatment center. This center fosters collaboration across multiple departments, including surgery, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and plastic surgery, ensuring comprehensive patient care. The hospital’s commitment to women’s health is evident in its obstetrics and gynecology department. This department received the highest grade in the “Caesarotomy Appropriateness Assessment” conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. The rehabilitation center has also earned recognition, receiving the “Certification of a Medical Institution Specialized in Rehabilitation Covered by Occupational Health and Safety Insurance.” Hanil Hospital doesn’t just react to medical needs; it anticipates them. Through surveys of local residents, the hospital identified key health concerns in Dobong and Gangbuk. This proactive approach led to the establishment of a rehabilitation center, a cardiovascular center, a diabetes clinic, a digestive organ center, and a health promotion center. Hanil Hospital continuously invests in its facilities. It regularly updates its surgical instruments and diagnostic equipment. In 2007, the hospital acquired the latest magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment. In 2010, it introduced the 128-channel multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) equipment. Hanil Hospital has a dedicated Medical Referral Center. This center streamlines the process for patients transferred from other medical institutions, simplifying consultations, admissions, and payments. It also ensures prompt notification of treatment results, facilitating efficient care and collaboration with regional medical institutions. Located on the first floor of the main building, the center is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Hanil Hospital’s commitment to progress continues with plans for modernization and expansion. These plans involve implementing an EMR system, enhancing its capabilities to deliver cutting-edge medical services. Hanil Hospital stands as a pillar of health and hope, constantly evolving to meet the needs of the community it serves.
