“Leijia Town, a place reborn.” Leijia Town in Chengdu. It wasn’t always a town. It began as Leijia Township, a smaller, more rural entity. Then, in December 2019, a transformation occurred. Leijia Township merged with Wangshui Township. From this union, Leijia Town emerged. This new town carries the name “Leijia,” a name that echoes its past while embracing its future. The name itself, 雷家 (Léi Jiā), is intriguing. In Chinese, “Léi” means thunder, and “Jiā” can mean home, family, or even a prominent clan. So, Leijia could be interpreted as “Thunder Home” or “Home of the Lei Clan.” Imagine the stories these names hold.
