“Thirteen cedis!” That was the surprisingly small sum collected during the first offering at the Church of Christ in Oforikrom. Today, we stand before this vibrant testament to faith, a church that rose from humble beginnings to become a pillar of the community. The Church of Christ in Oforikrom traces its roots back to 1971, born from the transformation of a humble interdenominational prayer group. This group, initially resistant to the teachings of the Church of Christ, eventually embraced the faith after a series of insightful studies led by members of the Bomso Church. In a bold move, the newly converted members, numbering less than twenty, held their first service at Oforikrom in March 1974. This decision, though met with initial resistance from the Bomso Church, marked a turning point. The Church of Christ in Oforikrom quickly established itself as a beacon of prayer and evangelism. It became a center for spiritual growth. The church bravely faced internal challenges, navigating periods of leadership transitions and disagreements among its members. However, through these trials, their commitment to spreading the Gospel only grew stronger. Today, the Church of Christ in Oforikrom stands as a testament to the unwavering faith of its congregation. It has blossomed into a beacon of hope, its influence extending far beyond its walls, touching countless lives through its various ministries and community outreach programs.
