“Welcome home.” These are the words the Christliche Gemeinde Wegweiser hopes you feel upon entering. Since 1989, the Internationale Christliche Gemeinde Wegweiser has welcomed people from all over the world.
Here at Öjendorfer Damm 39 in Hamburg, a unique community thrives. It’s a freievangelische Gemeinde. This means members aren’t obligated to pay church taxes like in traditional churches.
The Christliche Gemeinde Wegweiser started with a pastor’s vision. He independently founded it in 1989 and has been a pastor for about 40 years. People from Africa, Asia, Australia, America, and Europe have found a spiritual home here. Some were just passing through. Others settled in Hamburg.
They found a warm community. Music and singing filled the air. Engaging with the Bible helped them understand practical faith. Many lives transformed positively. The Bible gave them a new perspective on life’s meaning.
Services happen every Sunday from 10:00 to 11:30. They are voluntary. The Christliche Gemeinde Wegweiser also offers youth and children’s activities. These are popular.
This community values togetherness. Everyone should feel welcome. About 150 people from 15 nations belong to the Christliche Gemeinde Wegweiser.
The Christliche Gemeinde Wegweiser believes Jesus Christ’s death paid for everyone’s sins. No one is perfect. Everyone has personal sins, even if unseen.
