How many souls find their final resting place here? In the heart of Jerusalem lies the Al Ram Cemetery. A place of somber beauty, it has borne witness to centuries of history, faith, and the passage of time. The Al Ram Cemetery is not merely a graveyard but a testament to Jerusalem’s rich past. Its significance is woven into the fabric of the city. It holds the memories of countless individuals and whispers tales of bygone eras. The Al Ram Cemetery is divided into two sections by the road to Lions’ Gate. The southern section is known as Bab al-Rahma Cemetery. The northern section is called Al-Asbat Gate Cemetery. Bab al-Rahma itself translates to the “Gate of Mercy.” Since at least 2011, there have been rumors circulating among Palestinians about the Israeli government’s intentions to transform a portion of the cemetery into a biblical garden. This has created tension and concern among those who hold the cemetery sacred.
