Humble High School

Humble High School has been a part of this community for decades, but few know about the transformations it has undergone. The school’s history is a journey of adaptation, growth, and resilience. Stepping onto the grounds of Humble High School, you are greeted by a sprawling campus, with a blend of modern and traditional architecture. This isn’t the school’s original location. The first Humble High School opened in 1918 on Higgins Avenue. The original Humble High School building only housed grades 1-11. In 1929, it was relocated to a new building on Higgins Avenue and rebranded as Charles Bender High School. It moved to its current location on Wilson Road as Humble High School again in 1965. The original building on Higgins Avenue is still standing. The campus currently serves the entire Humble area and the western part of Atascocita. Humble High School serves grades 9-12. Before the opening of Atascocita High School in 2006, Humble High had a population of over 5,000 students. The high school has been redesigned with learning communities to give students more personalized attention. You can see the latest addition to Humble High School as you face the main entrance. The modern architecture, including a new cafeteria, library, performing arts theater, and athletics wing. The school also offers an International Baccalaureate program, a T-STEM academy, and a range of extracurricular activities. As you walk through the halls of Humble High School, you can almost hear the echoes of past generations. Imagine the hopes and dreams of countless students who walked these halls before you.
