The Giáo xứ Minh Đức wasn’t always the structure you see today. It was established in 1970. Before that from 1954 to 1970 the Minh Đức community worshipped elsewhere in Long Định- Mỹ Tho. Their first priest Father Trần Đức Dầu led a flock of 864 souls. Imagine their dedication their unwavering faith under less than ideal circumstances.
The first church building a testament to the community’s perseverance was dedicated in 1970. It underwent a complete renovation in the early 1990s. The building you see today reflects that transformation. A blend of old and new faith and progress.
Several priests have served the Giáo xứ Minh Đức guiding and nurturing this faith community. Father Trần Đức Dầu served from 1970 to 1975.
