Did the walls of Brightmoor Aldersgate United Methodist Church ever whisper secrets? I wonder what stories they could tell. Brightmoor Aldersgate, once known as West Outer Drive United Methodist Church, has seen a fascinating evolution. It became part of a unique “Adoption Model” merger with Redford United Methodist Church in 2012. This meant both church buildings continued to serve their communities, becoming two campuses of one church. Now, while Brightmoor Aldersgate itself may no longer hold regular services, its spirit lives on within the Redford Aldersgate United Methodist Church. The congregation, once worshipping within these walls, now gathers at the Redford campus. They continue their traditions and build new memories under the leadership of Pastor Rachel Kain and Pastor Nadine Johnson. Though the sun may have set on Brightmoor Aldersgate as a separate entity, its legacy remains a vibrant thread in the larger tapestry of the Redford Aldersgate community.
