Here on this very mountain a small house became a symbol of resistance. It was the hideout of three young EPONites. Dimitris Avgeris Thanos Kiokmenidis and Costas Foltopoulos. These brave teenagers fought fiercely against the German forces. They faced over 200 armored soldiers. Their battle lasted until late afternoon.

The Spiti tis EPON represents more than just a building. It symbolizes the unwavering spirit of the Ethniki Panhellenios Organosi Neon. EPON was the youth wing of the EAM. It was a powerful organization during the Axis Occupation of Greece. It played a pivotal role in the fight against fascism. Thousands of young people joined EPON.
