Beneath the rustling leaves of ancient trees, lies Lincoln Cemetery. It’s a place of quiet dignity, one of four public cemeteries maintained by the Town of Lincoln. Lincoln Cemetery whispers stories of the past. The town takes great pride in these grounds. They strive to preserve not just the physical space, but also the memories held within. The Town Clerk acts as the Cemetery Agent, overseeing the daily operations. This includes everything from interment requests to genealogical inquiries. The Cemetery Commission is dedicated to preserving Lincoln Cemetery and the other three town cemeteries. They ensure adequate burial space, maintain the grounds and monuments, and keep meticulous records. The Commission has undertaken various projects over the years. These range from restoring historic monuments to implementing sustainable lawn care practices. They even added road names and a helpful map at the Lexington Road Cemetery. Lincoln Cemetery isn’t just a place of rest. It’s a testament to the town’s commitment to honoring its history and its people.
