“Namseogwangmaeul” is quite a mouthful isn’t it? Today we’re visiting Namseogwangmaeul in Jeju. Namseogwangmaeul means Namseogwang Village. You can reach Namseogwangmaeul by taking bus 100 or 500.

Once you’re here in Namseogwangmaeul you’re poised to explore Yongnuni Oreum. Yongnuni Oreum is one of Jeju’s 368 oreums. “Oreum” means volcanic cone. “Yongnun” means dragon eye.

To get to Yongnuni Oreum from Namseogwangmaeul transfer to bus 710. Get off at the entrance of Gasinam-dong. Alternatively, if you have a car, there is a parking lot available.

The climb up Yongnuni Oreum takes about 30 minutes. As you ascend, notice the silver grass swaying gently. In the fall, Jeju’s oreums are full of eulalia. Yongnuni Oreum is especially picturesque. The fields of eulalia swaying in the wind are a sight to behold.
