Is this where the spaceship landed? You might think that’s a strange question, but Chertanovo found itself at the heart of a sci-fi spectacle back in 2017. The film “Attraction” chose this very district as the backdrop for its tale of an alien encounter. The story goes that an unidentified object, presumed to be a spaceship, crash-landed right here in Chertanovo. Of course, it was just a movie. But for a moment, it put Chertanovo on the map, showcasing its unique urban landscape to the world. Beyond the silver screen, Chertanovo has a history that’s just as captivating. Once a scattering of villages, this area was absorbed into the burgeoning metropolis of Moscow in 1960. Since then, it has transformed into a district of contrasts. Towering apartment blocks stand as a testament to Soviet-era urban planning, while green spaces and parks offer a breath of fresh air.
