Contemplate this a hotel of colossal ambition the Abraj Kudai Hotel. It is still under construction here in Mecca. Imagine a structure poised to redefine luxury and scale in the world of hospitality.

The Abraj Kudai Hotel project started with grand visions. It was initially projected to open in 2017. However construction was halted in 2015 because of financial difficulties. As of today the hotel has not opened to the public.

Once completed the Abraj Kudai will be one of the largest hotels in the world. It will feature a ring of 12 towers each soaring 45 stories high. Imagine 10000 bedrooms and 70 restaurants. There will even be five floors for the Saudi royal family’s exclusive use.

Ten of the towers will offer four-star accommodations. The other two will be reserved for special guests. These will offer five-star amenities.

The estimated cost is a staggering $3.5 billion. The hotel covers approximately 1.4 million square meters. Areen Hospitality a London-based firm designed the hotel’s interiors.

The Abraj Kudai site is not without controversy. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance owns the project. It is also a prime customer of The Saudi Binladin Group one of the country’s largest construction companies.

Low oil prices caused the government to suspend projects. This impacted the Saudi Binladin Group. A crane collapse at the Grand Mosque in Mecca further hurt the company. This resulted in 107 deaths. The company was banned from new state contracts. Thousands of employees were laid off. Work stopped on important projects like the Abraj Kudai.

The design is influenced by traditional Islamic architecture. The towers will encircle a central courtyard. Bridges will connect the towers. These will feature shopping centers conference halls and bus stations.

The Abraj Kudai Hotel is a short distance from the Grand Mosque. It will provide much-needed accommodation for pilgrims. The hotel is expected to boost the local economy.

The Abraj Kudai aims to revolutionize the global hotel industry. It will dwarf the MGM Grand Las Vegas in room numbers. Its location near the Kaaba makes it a unique draw for visitors.

Consider this a modern marvel. The Abraj Kudai will feature rooftop helipads for VIPs. It will also boast prayer halls able to accommodate thousands. State-of-the-art technology will enhance the worship experience.

The Abraj Kudai represents Saudi Arabia’s long-term vision for tourism. It aims to attract tourists worldwide. It is designed as a destination in its own right.

Though its opening remains uncertain the Abraj Kudai Hotel promises an unprecedented experience. It is a testament to ambition and architectural vision here in Mecca. It reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing for pilgrims on their spiritual journey.
